Steven West
Steve’s green thumb began when he was four years old. He grew an eight-pound pumpkin in his backyard and he was so proud of it. When Steve was 14, he worked as many hours as he could at the local farm that grew fruits, vegetables, annuals, perennials, and sold Christmas trees. During college, he continued to work weekends and holidays at the farm. After college, for over 20 years he would unload, price, and sell Christmas trees back at the farm. Most recently he has grown tomatoes, squash, peppers, scallions and oregano with his daughter in their seaside garden.
Steve graduated from University of Massachusetts Amherst Stockbridge School of Agriculture and holds an associate degree in Landscape Operations and Turf Grass Management. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Urban Forestry from the University of Massachusetts.
